5 out of 5 stars Great Machine for Lowering Blood Pressue and Sleep Aid   June 26, 2010
Ward12
I have been using Resperate for about 3.5 weeks now. It has lowered my blood pressure slightly. However, I use it every night and it always helps me fall asleep with ease. I try not to fall asleep while using it because it will take longer to lower my blood pressure, but it's wonderful to use for relaxing after a long day.

5 out of 5 stars Worth it for relaxation alone   May 31, 2010

The relaxing effect of the 15-minute exercise really does carry over to the rest of the day. In itself that's a health benefit for someone high-strung like me.

My unmedicated BP was high, but not kill-you-right-away high, so I took myself off the diuretics after using Resperate for a few weeks. Measurements with a good Omron monitor are now showing BP in normal range.

5 out of 5 stars A bona fide MIRACLE!   May 3, 2010
Byline by Lynn (Stockbridge, GA)
Like always, I was skeptical of the glowing testimonials on the RESPERATE web site, but the links to medical journals and cites to the many clinical trials in which it has been proven effective convinced me to give it a try.

I've only had the RESPERATE machine for a little over two weeks now, but I have to say that it is a bona fide MIRACLE in my life! Not only did I start seeing improvement in my elevated blood pressure after just a couple of sessions (and I believe my doctor will take me off the blood pressure meds very soon now); I also realized that I'd never felt so much at peace and never been in such a state of serenity as I found myself in after doing the RESPERATE sessions.

The dizzy spells that I had been experiencing almost every day stopped after two days of using RESPERATE, which leads me to believe I was having anxiety attacks. Whatever it was, RESPERATE made it go away.

Also, I was able to get reimbursed for the purchase price of the RESPERATE from my Health Care Spending Account. Nevertheless, if I had known what RESPERATE was going to do for me, I would have happily spent three times the money for it, whether it was eligible for HCSA money or not.

If you're considering RESPERATE, I don't think you can go wrong in making the purchase.

5 out of 5 stars My BP is now 115/80   April 29, 2010
Happy Accidents (CT)
My blood pressure was borderline high, usually in the 140's over 80. At my doctor's suggestion I tried exercise to lower my blood pressure but it didn't work. I tried lowering my salt intake without improving my BP numbers. I also stopped eating red meat (due to another condition), but that didn't help either. I have been unsuccessful at dropping an excess 40 pounds.

I decided to try RESPeRATE because my next option was meds. My goal to avoid meds was a BP of 120/80 or better. I'm happy to say I've reached and even exceeded my goal.

I wanted `proof' that RESPeRATE worked so I took my blood pressure before and after each session and kept a log for about a year. At first, immediately after the daily session my BP was always 10-15 points lower, but by the next day it was back in the high 140's. However, after about 3 weeks I noticed it was gradually going from the high 140s to the low 140s. Over the course of several months it went down little by little, first into the high 130s, then the low 130s, etc. After about 6 months my rate was consistently about 115/80. Now I only use RESPeRATE every week or so for maintenance.

I can't give RESPeRATE all the credit for lowering my BP more than 30 points. Although I have not lost any weight, I also continued my exercising and Yoga (WII Fit - which is more like fun than exercise!) and started taking 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon each day with my bowl of oatmeal. But RESPeRATE definitely had to be a significant contributor.

1 out of 5 stars Not successful   April 28, 2010

I reluctantly gave up on this product after a serious effort to make it succeed. I followed the instructions conscientiously and even doubled the time required over the weeks.

Resperate claims when you buy you receive "live coaching from dedicated, experienced Resperate Care professionals." This is Marketing fabrication. When I called for additional direction my "dedicated professional's" idea of assistance was to re-read the instruction booklet. Nor could she answer any of my questions. Resperate's on-line information is more extensive, but still my blood pressure did not drop.

I admire the technology and am pleased some find this non-drug method effective in addressing high blood pressure. I do think it is overpriced in relation to the production cost. I also found that after using it for the prescribed month I was getting bored with the breathing tones. I see there are numerous studies on the benefits of meditation in lowering blood pressure and perhaps this is the avenue to proceed.
